As we expand our international footprint, we are strengthening our regulatory affairs capabilities and are looking for a brilliant Energy Market Affairs Manager . The Energy Market Affairs Manager is responsible for leading the company's engagement in regional and federal regulatory and market policy forums affecting wholesale electricity markets and bulk power generation. This role serves as a key advocate for the company's interests before Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs), Independent System Operators (ISOs), and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), while providing strategic analysis to support commercial, development, and operational decision-making. The successful candidate will combine deep market and policy knowledge with strong analytical, stakeholder management, and advocacy skills to influence market design and regulatory outcomes that impact generation assets and future investment opportunities. Key Responsibilities Regulatory and Market Advocacy Lead the company's participation in ISO/RTO stakeholder processes, working groups, task forces, and committees. Monitor, assess, and influence regulatory and market design initiatives at FERC and major ISOs/RTOs. Develop company positions and advocacy strategies on issues affecting wholesale power markets and generation resources. Prepare regulatory comments, stakeholder proposals, presentations, and briefing materials. Build and maintain productive relationships with ISO/RTO staff, regulators, industry associations, consultants, and external stakeholders. Policy Analysis Analyze market rule changes, FERC proceedings, and emerging policy developments impacting bulk power generation. Evaluate implications of proposed market reforms related to: Resource adequacy and capacity markets Generator interconnection Transmission planning and cost allocation Ancillary services markets Reliability and operational requirements Market performance and price formation Translate complex regulatory developments into actionable business recommendations. Commercial and Strategic Support Partner with commercial and executive teams to assess market and policy risks. Provide insights regarding market trends, revenue opportunities, and regulatory developments affecting asset competitiveness. Support business development activities through market and policy due diligence. Develop presentations and strategic assessments for senior leadership. Industry Engagement Represent the company at industry conferences, trade associations, stakeholder meetings, and regulatory forums. Monitor market trends and emerging issues affecting competitive power markets. Collaborate with internal and external experts to advance company policy objectives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in engineering, public policy, political science, energy management, or a related field. Approximately 3-5 years of experience in energy markets, regulatory affairs, market policy, power market analysis, or a related field. Strong working knowledge of U.S. wholesale electricity markets and FERC regulatory processes. Experience engaging with one or more ISOs/RTOs (e.g., PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO, MISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO). Experience analyzing market and regulatory issues related to generation assets. Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience supporting or leading stakeholder engagement efforts in ISO/RTO forums. Familiarity with resource adequacy constructs, transmission policy, generator interconnection, and ancillary service markets. Advanced quantitative or economic analysis skills. Graduate degree in economics, public policy, engineering, law, or a related field. Success Factors Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
