CUSTODIAL ASSOCIATE | Apply by June 24, 2026

Work Schedule 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Wednesday to Sunday, including occasional special events (up to 40 hours). Salary Range $15.00 – $16.00/hour. Employment Status Full‑time, non‑exempt. Reports To Facilities Manager and Facilities Coordinator. Position Summary The Custodial Associate maintains a consistently clean, safe, and welcoming facility. Performs custodial duties within assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, polishing, removing trash/recycling, and other general cleaning tasks. Works indoors and outdoors as needed. Requires reliable attendance, timely completion of tasks, and a positive attitude. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure all museum premises in assigned area are cleaned thoroughly on a regular schedule and as needed. Tend to custodial safety concerns in an urgent manner. Collaborate across departments for cleaning in sensitive areas such as galleries or storage rooms. Partner with Events and Facilities teams to supply housekeeping services before, during, and after events. Monitor and/or participate in moving activities for supplies, furniture, and equipment. Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and materials. Support organization and relocation of items in storage. Share responsibility in floor care using various tools, machinery, and supplies. Serve as a key member of the Emergency Response Team. Foster a culture of collaboration across staff. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1–2 years of custodial experience. Experience with a range of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Reliable, conscientious, attentive to detail; comfortable in settings requiring accuracy and care. Basic math skills; ability to read correspondence, diagrams, technical manuals, write documents, and present information. Ability to understand complex, multi‑step written and oral instructions. Can work independently and collaboratively, using judgment and discretion. Multi‑tasking ability. Enthusiastic about the museum’s mission and serving diverse audiences. Patient, flexible, and focused on positive visitor experience. Positive team attitude and punctual. Additional Information Adhere to FAM policies and ethics at all times and wear the custodial uniform as per policy.
