Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Must have 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty applying for. License: Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at the time of submission. Certifications: AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required. Must-Have: Traveler must work at least every other holiday. May be required to float to other units to care for the same patient population. Must complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation and achieve acceptable scores. Traveler will receive two attempts maximum to pass assessments; otherwise, cancellation may occur. Description: The position involves providing nursing care in a step-down unit. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring and assessing patients post-surgery. There is potential for floating to other units depending on operational needs. Shifts may vary, and the facility will make efforts to honor preferred shifts but retains the right to rotate as necessary. Successful candidates must adhere to all facility requirements regarding background checks. Compliance with seasonal vaccination requirements is expected, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons. Travelers will be expected to demonstrate competency in required assessments before being scheduled for shifts. Candidates should be aware of additional module requirements associated with annual competency evaluations.
