Snapshot Senior Accountant , based at our Southport, CT headquarters (on-site Monday–Thursday), reporting to the Accounting Manager on the Accounting & Finance team. Why this role matters EVP is growing through acquisition, and every new hospital we bring on adds complexity to our books. We are looking for someone who will own major parts of the monthly close, keep the general ledger clean across a multi-entity structure, and turn out numbers that our management team and PE sponsors can trust, while helping us build the processes that let this function scale as fast as the platform does. What you'll do Own significant portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets, and help drive close-cycle improvements that reduce days-to-close and increase reliability Run daily and monthly cash accounting: cash position tracking, cash activity journal entries, and monitoring of intercompany and operating account movements Prepare timely, accurate bank reconciliations across all operating and depository accounts, researching and clearing reconciling items each month Maintain the fixed asset subledger end-to-end, including capitalizations, disposals, transfers, and depreciation schedules, plus periodic reconciliation of the subledger to the general ledger; support capex tracking and ensure capitalization decisions are documented and consistent with policy Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies timely, and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts for accuracy and consistency across entities Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management, the board, and PE sponsors, and support budget-vs-actual variance analysis with clear, well-documented explanations of key drivers Contribute to audit‑ready workpapers and support the annual financial statement audit Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed, and assist with technical accounting research and documentation (e.g., revenue recognition, leases) Drive system implementations, integrations, and process‑automation initiatives, looking at every manual, repetitive process and figuring out whether it should be automated, and support due diligence and purchase accounting for acquisitions as they arise Partner with FP&A, operations, and other teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data What success looks like in the first year You haven't just kept the close running. Manual, repetitive processes you inherited have been reworked, streamlined, or automated wherever it made sense; you've spotted the opportunities across cash, reconciliations, fixed assets, and reporting to cut out manual touchpoints and build a close that scales with our growth. You've taken full ownership of your areas with minimal rework, and you're known as the person who makes things better, not just the person who keeps things running. What you'll bring Must-haves Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3–5 years of accounting experience (public accounting, private industry, or a combination) Strong knowledge of US GAAP with full‑cycle month‑end close experience Hands‑on experience with cash accounting, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting (subledger maintenance and depreciation) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets) A self‑starter mindset: you don't just execute a process, you look for where it's broken, manual, or slow, and you fix it Close attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure Public accounting (audit) background Exposure to M&A activity, purchase accounting, or lender reporting Experience with Sage Intacct or a comparable multi‑entity ERP, multi‑entity consolidations, and process automation tools What we offer How we work: Fast-moving, PE‑backed environment with real ownership over how company scales.
