ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing patient care that is tailored to the specific age group of the patient population served in the assigned unit. This role demands a commitment to providing high-quality care in an efficient and safe manner that aligns with the unit's established standards of care. The nurse will demonstrate professional performance consistent with the organization's mission, philosophy, and goals while adapting to changing systems. A focus on quality and effectiveness in both work habits and clinical practice is expected, as well as a commitment to treating all staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect and consideration.

Standards of Behavior

Line of Responsibility and Authority

• Reports to the Director of the Intensive Care Unit.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of two years of documented experience in an ICU setting or completion of an approved ICU training course, including didactic and clinical components.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of California.
• BLS Certification in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines (no other certifications accepted).
• ACLS Certification within six months of hire.
• PALS Certification within six months of hire.
• CCRN certification is encouraged.
