2027 Summer Intern PhD Student - Drug Product Development Material Characterization

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks PhD students in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related fields for a 10-week summer internship focused on drug product material characterization techniques. Interns will develop analytical methods, troubleshoot characterization approaches, and collaborate with multidisciplinary pharmaceutical development teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize material characterization methods using spectroscopy and diffraction techniques
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with analytical methodologies and instrumentation
- Collaborate with formulation scientists, analytical chemists, and process engineers on drug product development
- Present research findings and internship work in formal presentation at program conclusion
Requirements
- Currently enrolled PhD student in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physics, or related field
- Expected graduation between Fall 2027 and 2028
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- US work authorization; no visa sponsorship available
- Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to work collaboratively
- Proficiency in data analysis software and problem-solving with minimal supervision
- Experience with powder characterization, crystallography, spectroscopy, or related analytical techniques
Compensation: $45/hour
