What You'll Do

• Perform diagnostic echocardiograms (2D, M-mode, Doppler) on adult and pediatric patients
• Coordinate with hospital departments for exam scheduling, patient transport, and billing accuracy
• Assist cardiologists during exams by preparing and measuring M-modes and exchanging pertinent information
• Manage dictations, file patient records, and maintain exam logs
• Respond promptly to patient needs and report any changes in condition
• Maintain equipment quality and coordinate repairs as necessary
• Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
• Share on-call responsibilities for emergency echocardiogram needs outside regular hours
• Stay current with advances in echocardiography and seek mentorship as needed
• Support other cardiac procedures as required

What You Need

• Required:
  • A.R.D.M.S./CCI registration or registry eligibility; comparable accreditation acceptable
  • New Mexico Echo Sonographer License
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • High school diploma or equivalent + 2-year allied health program
  • Manual dexterity and effective communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under stress
• Preferred:
  • 2+ years of active echocardiogram experience
  • Allied health background (e.g., radiology, respiratory, nursing)
