Mainframe System ProgrammerLocation: Plano, TX 75024 | Hybrid Duration: 06 monthsMust-Have SkillsExpert in SMP/E and Non-SMP/E installation of ISV productsExpert in IBM and Broadcom software installation and upgradesAdvanced z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation toolsz/OS V2.5 or later upgrades and z/OSMF workflow executionIODF/HCD skills for adding new devicesSysplex and configuration management – good to haveStrong JCL and IBM Utilities: IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, AMASPZAP, DFDSSISPF/TSO Basic REXX/CLISTDesign project plans for upgrades, maintenance, and decom with stakeholder task lists and timelinesFormulate project roadmaps with all prerequisites for completionResponsibilitiesPerform z/OS system programming, configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/EInstall and maintain vendor/ISV softwareExecute z/OS OS upgrades and RSU maintenance through z/OSMF workflowsArchitect, install, and configure complex z/OS and third-party software environmentsSupport software standardization and new feature implementationsProvide z/OS perspective support for storage, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating proceduresCollaborate with Mainframe System Programmers across tracks to enhance the environmentTroubleshoot issues, support team members, drive innovative improvements, and make technical decisionsIdentify and implement z/OS system/process improvementsWork with application support teams and internal customers on business initiatives
