Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of medical-surgical experience required License: Must have valid state license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in medical surgical and progressive care units - Acceptance of first-time travelers - No license or background hits - Ability to float across medical surgical and progressive care units Description: This position requires a nurse who will work nights on a medical surgical unit. Candidates must have two years of experience in medical surgical nursing. This role involves floating across medical surgical and progressive care units. The workload typically includes patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6. Certified nurses are expected to handle a variety of medical diagnoses including stroke, hyperglycemia, renal failure, and atrial fibrillation. Nurses will need to manage complex procedures and patient care tasks. Key skills include medication administration, infection prevention, and management of various medical conditions. Collaborative interdisciplinary support is provided from various departments such as physical therapy and social services. The facility expects nurses to work holidays and weekends on a rotational basis. Floating among units will follow established policies and orientation will be provided as necessary. Candidates should be prepared for the high patient care ratios and floating requirements in this role.
