Bilingual Medical Receptionist

Job Summary

Burkhart Pediatric & Adolescent Dermatology is seeking a Spanish-speaking Medical Receptionist to manage front desk operations and coordinate patient check-in and check-out. The Medical Receptionist will support providers, patients, and families through a variety of tasks related to patient care, organization, and communication. The ideal candidate will complete all responsibilities accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of quality and attention to detail.

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients and families upon arrival, answering phones, responding to electronic correspondence, scheduling appointments, and serving as a point of contact for general administrative questions.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Preparing and maintaining patient charts in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Verifying insurance information and collecting co-payments.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and welcoming appearance of front desk and waiting areas.
• Supporting effective communication between patients, families, providers, and staff.
• Educating staff members on Hispanic cultures and considerations that may enhance culturally responsive patient and family interactions.
• Participating in marketing, community outreach, and engagement initiatives.
• Leading or supporting efforts to increase community engagement and awareness of the practice.
• Actively participating in achieving the overall goals of Burkhart Pediatric & Adolescent Dermatology.
• Providing Spanish interpretation and translation support in both oral and written formats, as appropriate.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working as a Medical Receptionist in a physician's office.
• Fluent in Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written Spanish.
• Ability to collaborate with a creative team to improve patient and family experiences.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor with a strong commitment to providing excellent patient and family service.

• Two to three years of experience as a Medical Receptionist.
• Experience working in a dermatology or pediatric office setting.
• Experience providing Spanish interpretation or translation in a healthcare setting.

This position requires regular physical movement, including filing, bending, typing/data entry, and walking. The position may also require occasional lifting of items weighing up to 30 pounds.
