Training wage is $24.67! 2nd Shift starting at $26.47! Weekend Shift starting at $27.97! Flexibility to be hired for either 2nd or weekend shift.

Shifts available:

• 2nd Shift: Mondays - Thursdays, 3:45pm - 3:30am; Fridays, 3:45pm - 8:45pm
• Weekend Shift: Fridays - Sundays; 5:00am - 5:00pm

• 2nd Shift: Hours over 40 paid at time and a half
• Weekend Shift: Hours over 36 paid at time and a half
• All shifts: Hours over 50 paid at double time

A day in the life: As a fabricator employed at Veritas Steel's Wausau location, you are responsible for grinding, drilling, and fabrication of bridge girder parts; which may include welding operations, assembly operations, clean-up, and miscellaneous tasks assigned. You can meet production demands promptly and complete high-quality work.

Your skills include:

• High school diploma or GED
• Great attendance to learn and grow your skills
• Commitment to the attendance policy and procedures
• 1+ year of fabrication or welding experience a plus
• Commitment to work safety and actively participating in our safety culture
• Quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability of work performed

Your day includes:

• Drill, install high-strength bolts, and grind steel components
• Produce fillet and groove welds using the SMAW, SAW, and FCAW processes
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including the proper storage and disposal of materials
• Using proper safety equipment to ensure surfaces are adequately prepared for all operations
• Coordinating with shop supervisor and other personnel to complete work orders efficiently, on time, and with top-notch quality
• Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Your physical abilities:

• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to push/move objects up to 50 lbs. of force
• Pulling requirements up to 122 lbs. of force
• Necessary to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel
• Must have a good range of motion when reaching forward, shoulder to overhead, and bending
• Agile fingers and thumbs on both hands

Your environment:

• Work performed indoors in a large warehouse or outside in all weather conditions
• Regular exposure to dirt, dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, heavy steel, and other possible hazardous conditions
• Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots are required
