Work Environment\n

This role is designed for remote work, allowing for flexibility while serving our community’s mental health needs. Regular working hours will be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient requirements. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs of older adults, identifying key emotional and psychological factors affecting their well-being.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans considering the holistic aspects of the patient’s health, incorporating cognitive changes, medical conditions, and social factors that influence their mental health.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, individual and family therapy, to effectively address a variety of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care, participating in case discussions and strategy sessions to optimize treatment outcomes.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, guiding elderly patients and their families through challenging situations.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health, treatment options, and community resources available to them, empowering them with knowledge and tools to navigate their circumstances.

• Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately and confidentially, fulfilling legal and ethical obligations while maintaining high standards of care.

• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

• Stay updated on the latest research, best practices, and developments in geriatric psychiatry, ensuring your practice aligns with current recommendations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily serve the geriatric population, addressing a broad spectrum of mental health issues. Your role will involve working with elderly individuals who may face cognitive decline, depression, anxiety, and complex family dynamics. You will strive to build rapport and trust with your clients, understanding their unique histories and current challenges to foster a supportive therapeutic environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California is essential.

• A minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure experience working with older adults in a mental health setting is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions.

• Experience delivering psychotherapy to older adults and working effectively with their families is advantageous.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a patient-centered and empathetic approach.

• A demonstrated ability to connect with elderly patients and establish a trusting therapeutic relationship.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications is required.

• A collaborative spirit and the capability to work well within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
