Make an immediate impact supporting elementary students as a school-based social worker in a contract role running through May 2027. This rewarding opportunity is conveniently located near Tijeras, NM, and offers the chance to provide proactive, hands-on support to student groups, small cohorts, and individuals facing social or behavioral challenges.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required, with supervision available for professionals working toward their LCSW.
- Previous experience in an educational or school-based setting is highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with children and collaborate with staff.
- Proven ability to deliver both individual and group counseling services.
- Crisis intervention skills and a readiness to respond to emergent student needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a proactive resource for grade-level or small student groups, using school and student data to develop and deliver targeted lesson plans and support sessions.
- Provide individual counseling to students, addressing personal, social, or behavioral concerns.
- Lead group counseling sessions focused on shared student needs or trends identified through data collection.
- Offer crisis intervention and support for students experiencing acute challenges, working closely with staff and administration to ensure student safety and well-being.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student interactions and outcomes in accordance with privacy and compliance standards.
