POSITION OBJECTIVE - The Senior Sales Representative for John Pomp is the driving force behind client relationships and business development within the NY market. You are responsible for cultivating and building a sales pipeline that brings aligned clients into the showroom, while nurturing and creating strong connections, and implementing strategic outreach for client acquisition. You will curate an elevated level of service for our clients through the entire order specification lifecycle by inspiring clients with our brand story and in-depth collection knowledge, while maintaining the showroom presentation to the highest level. Collaborate with the Leadership Team and Marketing Department to create inspiring, unique, and memorable experiences for our clients.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales and business growth and consistently meet or exceed individual sales targets established with leadership.
- Cultivate and manage a strong pipeline of trade clients including interior designers, architects, and developers.
- Leverage existing A&D book of business to bring new and recurring clients into the showroom through tours, events, and curated experiences.
- Lead proactive outreach and outside sales in NYC: scheduling and hosting design firm presentations, sample drop-offs, studio appointments, client needs, and more.
- Actively listen to client needs, providing thoughtful suggestions to match their vision and needs, and ensuring every interaction builds toward a strong, long-term partnership.
- Position John Pomp Studios as the preferred design partner through superior design education, brand storytelling, and an exceptional level of individual service.
Showroom Operations & Client Experience
- Maintain John Pomp showroom to the highest level of presentation and operations at all times; overseeing display standards, tidiness, refreshments, and next-level service to deliver a fully curated brand environment.
- Serve as a key holder, managing daily opening and closing responsibilities.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for ongoing showroom maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Monitor and report on weekly showroom foot traffic, sharing insights with leadership.
- Observe operational processes, notice areas for improvement, and propose ideas to optimize overall experience.
Account Management
- Generate and manage leads, quotes, and sales orders through the company’s CRM, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every stage.
- Keep clients proactively informed on order status, and any changes; communicating with transparency and care.
- Relay client feedback to leadership regarding product requests, process improvements, and service standards.
- Deliver samples to clients as needed via courier or in-person office visits, maintaining a consistent level of luxury service at every touchpoint.
Events & Brand Presence
- Collaborate with the leadership team and marketing department on the planning and execution of showroom events including trade events, cocktail hours, designer visits, and product launches.
- Plan and lead designer presentations and tours: establishing agendas, managing follow-up, and providing continued service.
- Attend after-hours client dinners, networking events, and relationship-building opportunities as a representative of the John Pomp brand.
- Stay continuously informed on all collections, new releases, and brand initiatives; representing the studio as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador in every interaction.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of professional experience in luxury design sales.
- Established book of business within the A&D community, with a proven ability to develop trade relationships and close sales in a design-driven setting.
- Strong presentation skills and a polished, professional demeanor with a client-first approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- High level of organization, attention for detail and time management
- Genuine passion for design, luxury interiors, and the craft behind beautifully made objects.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
