Summary: Pearlstone, a 184 acre Retreat Center and Farm located in Northern Reisterstown, MD, is looking for a talented Sous Chef who is passionate about food and is a strong leader, to help lead and inspire our team. We specialize in Kosher Farm-to-Table wholesome meals prepared by a highly skilled team of culinarians. Ideal candidates will have: Excellent cooking skills Be a Servant Leader and with strong coaching and mentoring ability Advanced knife skills Ordering and receiving experience including proper stock rotation and burn management Inventory management and menu costing experience Great attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft programs Have a modern and creative portfolio Practical understanding of HACCP Prioritize cleanliness and sanitation Comfortable with vendor interactions, ordering, and receiving The desire to work hand-in-hand with his/her Executive Chef to build and maintain a strong efficient team! Ideal candidates will be available days, evenings, and weekends; exact days are negotiable. We prioritize an 8hour work day and encourage work-life balance, whenever possible. Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a restaurant or non-institutional commercial kitchen. Knowledge of kosher cooking a plus and experience with plant-based cooking a must.
