Kindergarten Teacher

Durham Academy is accepting applications for a permanent full-time Kindergarten teacher to beginNovember 12, 2026.The Preschool serves approximately 100 students in grades Pre-K and Kindergarten. Our Preschool classrooms have 18 students with a lead classroom teacher and a teaching assistant.This position reports to the Preschool Director. Responsibilities Setting learning goals and planning developmentally appropriate and engaging lessons Preparing instructional materials Leading whole and small group instruction and providing intervention, as needed Assessing student performance and growth Maintaining communication with families Carrying out required supervisory duties Performing other duties as requested by the division director Qualifications A bachelor’s degree (preferably in education) At least three years of teaching experience in an early childhood classroom Experience working with children in an educational environment A demonstrated commitment to professional growth, collaboration and collegiality A passion and love for meeting the social and academic needs of Preschool students Durham Academy Teachers Are culturally competent and believe in the central importance of diversity and equity in the life of the school.
