Consumer Litigation Associate

Direct Counsel is seeking a Consumer Litigation Associate to join the Los Angeles office of a nationally recognized Am Law firm. This opportunity is ideal for a litigation attorney with 3–4 years of experience who is looking to take on significant responsibility, work directly with clients, and manage sophisticated consumer and financial services litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will have experience litigating in California state and federal courts, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage matters while collaborating closely with partners and clients.

Responsibilities

• Represent financial institution clients in consumer litigation matters
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Manage written discovery, document review, depositions, and expert discovery
• Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, arbitrators, and courts
• Assume significant responsibility for day-to-day case management and client service

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• 3–4 years of litigation experience
• Experience practicing in California state and federal courts
• Familiarity with arbitration proceedings
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience representing financial institutions
• Experience litigating matters involving banking, privacy, or consumer protection laws
• Prior experience handling complex commercial or consumer litigation matters

• Salary Range: $260,000 – $310,000
