Director of Preconstruction

A leading civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Director of Preconstruction to lead a high‑performing preconstruction and estimating group. What You’ll Lead

• Oversee and mentor a team of 4 estimators
• Manage 5–10 active pursuits at a time across heavy civil, water/wastewater, and commercial building scopes
• Lead preconstruction planning, bid strategy, and estimate reviews
• Conduct pre‑bid site walks (approx. 15% travel)
• Partner closely with operations and executive leadership on forecasting, risk, and project selection
• Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, accuracy, and team performance

What You Bring

• 10+ years in heavy civil or commercial construction, including water/wastewater
• 5+ years of estimating experience, ideally in a leadership or managing role
• 5+ years of preconstruction or team leadership experience
• Engineering degree preferred
• Strong background in GC building work is preferred
• Ability to balance hands‑on estimating with strategic leadership

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual bonus: $60K
• Monthly vehicle stipend: $950
• Phone stipend: $75
• Relocation assistance available (case‑by‑case, approx. $10K)
