DAY SHIFT MONDAY - FRIDAY 6am - 4:30pm
- A YCC Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients for next day and day off service. Our cooks must have the ability to read and follow recipes consistently, follow health and safety protocols adhere to instruction of the chef and or foodservice director. Cooks must maintain a clean and organized work environment. Cooks are responsible for delivering food that is not only delicious but cooked to the YCC specifications.
- · Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
- · Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
- · Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
- · Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
- · Occasionally serve food
- · Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
- · Handle and store ingredients and food
- · Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- · Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
- · Execute opening and closing procedures
- · Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
- · Check the quality and freshness of ingredients
- · Follow weekly and monthly cleaning list
- · Assist when needed with washing of dishes
- · Monitor station inventory levels
- · Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
- · Assist with monthly inventory
- · Complete daily opening and closing checklist
- · Record cooler and food temps
- · Record production and leftovers
- · Assist with all catering events whether the event is scheduled for the afternoon, evening or weekends. (we rarely do weekend catering but need the person to be available)
