This contract opportunity is designed for those passionate about inclusive education, especially individuals who have experience working with students with Autism and behavioral needs. You’ll contribute directly to a student’s growth and success while also collaborating within a committed, supportive educational team.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar student support role
- Familiarity with working 1:1 with students, preferably with Autism and behavioral challenges
- Understanding and application of IEP goals and accommodations
- Strong communication skills with students, teachers, and families
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to reliably work full-time hours for the duration of the contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized support to a student with Autism and behavioral needs
- Assist with classroom activities and academic instruction as outlined in the student’s IEP
- Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Implement behavioral interventions and supports as needed
- Support daily routines, transitions, and engagement in classroom activities
- Foster a nurturing and respectful classroom environment to promote student independence
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure consistent support
