This remote position is integral to our Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) initiative and will allow you to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals seeking mental health support in an outpatient setting. As an LMHC, you will be responsible for providing brief, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, education, and consultation for Veterans and Primary Care Providers.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct intake assessments to identify clients’ needs, concerns, and treatment goals.

• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, with a focus on goals from the current DSM.

• Provide individual, group, and family therapies, utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities tailored to each client's circumstances.
\n
• Regularly evaluate treatment progress and adjust interventions based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
\n
• Engage in accurate and timely clinical documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans using electronic health record systems.
\n
• Actively participate in team meetings to discuss client care strategies, progress updates, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
\n
• Educate clients and families about mental health issues, resources, and coping strategies to promote wellness and recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily involves working with a diverse population of Veterans and their families, addressing a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders. You will provide culturally sensitive care, considering the distinct backgrounds and experiences of each client to foster trust and effective treatment outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in mental health counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State.
\n
• Ability to comply with internal credentialing standards set by relevant clinical bodies.
\n
• A minimum of one year’s experience providing mental health services to psychiatric and/or substance abuse populations.

• Experience conducting comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and providing therapy to individuals and groups.
\n
• Proficient in using basic computer applications and electronic health record systems for clinical documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated ability in trauma-informed care practices and familiarity with Veteran-specific mental health issues.

• Experience with telehealth platforms, enhancing access to care for clients in remote settings.

• Strong knowledge of current mental health regulations, ethical codes, and case laws.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The starting salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will be eligible for a sign-on bonus, which reflects our commitment to attracting top talent.
