Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans based on client needs and evidence-based practices.

• Provide brief, focused therapeutic interventions and consultations tailored to the unique requirements of each patient and their families.

• Utilize the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) to inform diagnosis, treatment planning, and the application of appropriate clinical interventions.

• Engage actively in the collaborative treatment process, sharing insights and recommendations with primary care providers to optimize patient care.

• Monitor and document client progress accurately, maintaining timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational standards.

• Demonstrate basic competency with software applications for effective data management and communication, while also ensuring the confidentiality and security of patient information.

• Participate in continuous professional development through training sessions, workshops, and peer reviews to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on serving Veterans and their families, which requires a deep understanding of the unique mental health challenges they face, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in mental health counseling, psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.
