GI Endoscopy Tech - Inova Oakville ASC

We are currently seeking a Full-time Endoscopy Technician to join our team. Inova Oakville Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We are licensed, Medicare certified, and AAAHC accredited.We provide cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the- art technology in a friendly and caring environment by highly-skilled, compassionate staff. The Endoscopy/GI Technician plays an essential role in supporting endoscopic procedures, focusing on equipment preparation, patient care, and assisting clinical staff. Working under the direction of nurses and gastroenterologists, the Endoscopy/GI Technician ensures that all necessary equipment is sterile, operational, and ready for use, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment for patients throughout their procedures. Duties & Responsibilities: Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and ensure high-level disinfection (HLD) of all endoscopic instruments and equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed Procedure Assistance: Support the clinical team during endoscopic procedures by handing instruments to the physician, assisting with specimen collection, and ensuring the patient's comfort Patient Preparation and Post-Procedure Care: Help prepare patients for procedures, provide support and reassurance, and assist with patient positioning. Aid in the post-procedure process, including cleaning and preparing the room for the next patient Infection Control and Safety Compliance: Follow strict infection control guidelines, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, rooms, and instruments according to regulatory standards Documentation and Communication: Record procedure details, patient information, and any instrument usage or issues accurately.
