Driftwood Cafe is seeking a passionate, hands-on Executive Sous Chef to serve as the Executive Chef's trusted partner in leading daily culinary operations. Job Duties:

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily planning, directing, and coordinating kitchen operations.
• Assist in supervising and training kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, portioning, and execution across all service periods.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, seasonal features, special promotions, and recipe standardization.
• Monitor food costs, purchasing, inventory levels, and product utilization to support financial goals.
• Maintain effective communication with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and ensure adherence to established culinary standards.
• Step in and lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen culture.
• Assume leadership of all culinary operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Support the successful execution of club events, holiday programming, and special dining experiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience in a restaurant, private club, resort, hotel, or hospitality environment.
• Previous experience as an Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior Culinary Supervisor.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
