Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments, developing individualized therapy strategies tailored to meet each client's unique needs.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, families, couples, and groups in a supportive and safe environment.

• Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy, to facilitate client progress.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, coordinating comprehensive care and sharing insights about client progress and challenges.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards while also helping to streamline processes such as billing and reporting.

• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, attending workshops and training sessions to stay current in the field of mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Lead Mental Health Counselor will serve a diverse client population, including individuals and families from various socio-economic backgrounds who encounter numerous mental health challenges. It is essential to approach each client with empathy, respect, and an open mind, understanding the stigma and barriers they may face in accessing mental health services.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• An active and unrestricted license as a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland.

• At least two years of counseling experience, with a demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic support in a clinical setting.

• A solid understanding of legal and ethical standards governing clinical practices in mental health.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with clients from a variety of backgrounds.
