Brake Press/Laser Operator$22.00-$24.00/hour1st5:00am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday, Friday overtime available and currently expectedQPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled Press Brake / Laser Operator for a manufacturing client in the Greater Milwaukee Area. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC laser cutting and press brake equipment to fabricate metal components according to engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. Successful candidates will possess strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.Brake Press/Laser Operator Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment and press brake machinesRead and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawingsSelect proper tooling, materials, and machine settings for production runsMake machine programming adjustments as needed to maintain quality standardsMeasure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring instrumentsVerify dimensions and tolerances meet customer and company specificationsLoad and unload raw materials and finished products safely and efficientlyPerform routine machine maintenance and daily equipment inspectionsTroubleshoot machine and production issues to minimize downtimeMaintain accurate production and quality recordsFollow all company safety policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principlesBrake Press/Laser Operator Requirements:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum 2 years of experience operating CNC laser and/or press brake equipment preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawingsExperience using precision measuring tools and performing quality inspectionsBasic CNC programming and computer skills preferredStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentPreferred experience with Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, Cincinnati, or similar fabrication equipmentPreferred knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processesPreferred forklift and overhead crane experiencePreferred experience in lean manufacturing environmentsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods during the shiftAbility to lift up to 50 poundsFrequent bending, reaching, stooping, and handling materialsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentManufacturing and production facility settingUse of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe bootsFriday overtime is available and currently expected based on production needsKey skills: CNC laser operation, press brake setup and operation, blueprint reading, precision measurement, quality control, troubleshooting, material handling, safety compliance, time management, teamworkQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
