Clinical Services Technician I/II

Position Overview Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is seeking qualified applicants for Clinical Services Technician I or II. The technician provides intake, assists in treatment planning, and ensures a safe, supportive environment for patients and clients. Entry level (I) works under supervision; experienced (II) has greater independence and may lead groups and administer medication under supervision. Responsibilities Clinical Services Technician I Complete intake data on patient/client. Provide input for diagnostic impressions and treatment plans. Observe patient/client behavior; respond appropriately to crisis, anxiety, panic, or other behavioral and physical states. Assist in formulating problem/strength lists and treatment plans; may formulate plans under supervision, utilizing age‑specific considerations. Encourage patients/clients to participate in social and recreational activities and provide direction. Physically restrain patients/clients as required. Model personal hygiene, appearance, and social interactions; provide guidance in recreational or social activities. Monitor patient status and report findings to therapy support staff. Observe and record vital signs, intake/output, and signs of withdrawal. Assist patients with assisted daily living. Adhere to policies and procedures. Assist in facilitating groups. Under direct supervision, participate in limited counseling activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Clinical Services Technician II Independently lead and/or facilitate groups and individual sessions. Conduct family interviews and participate in counseling activities. Under proper supervision, may administer and chart medications ordered by the physician. Complete intake data on patient/client. Provide input for diagnostic impressions and treatment plans. Observe patient/client behavior; respond appropriately to crisis, anxiety, panic, or other behavioral and physical states. Assist in formulating problem/strength lists and treatment plans; may formulate plans under supervision, utilizing age‑specific considerations. Qualifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR for Healthcare Providers. Pattern I: Two (2) years of full‑time related experience in mental health, substance abuse, or social service agencies, providing direct services for patients/clients. Pattern II: Equivalent to 15 semester units of college coursework from an accredited college in a behavioral science or social science, plus one (1) year full‑time related experience in mental health, substance abuse, or social service agencies, providing direct services. Pattern III: Equivalent to 30 semester units of college coursework from an accredited college in a behavioral science, social science, or related field.
