Position Electrician Reports to Electrical Manager Shift 12-hour continental shift This position starts at a rate of $49.38 per hour, with yearly increases in October. Summary Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing electrical maintenance to the company plant equipment. This includes diagnosis of causes of breakdowns, removal, replacement, and installation of various components. Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is required. This position provides services for the production operators who use this equipment to perform their work. This position requires good communication skills, understanding and commitment to the team effort, flexibility, and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Location Located in the Oakville/Mississauga area, this unionized position provides a competitive salary and benefits package. Shift work will be required for this position. Post-Secondary education is an asset Valid Electrical Certificate of Qualification (309A or 442A) Proof of Apprenticeship Experience working with outside vendors and outsourced contractors Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is required Basic understanding of manufacturing operations Working knowledge of related maintenance and repair practices Valid Drivers Licence Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Physically able to climb ladders and scaffolds and work upon platforms Work Environment Industrial/manufacturing working environment, subject to hazards such as electrical shock/arc flash, noise, dust, heat, etc. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
