Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide vital support to students by facilitating communication and inclusion as a contract Sign Language Interpreter in a local educational setting. Two distinct opportunities are available, serving either high school or K–8 populations for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Key Details:

• Two roles available:
  • High School (9th–12th): August 10, 2026–May 20, 2027, 35 hours/week, 8:00am–3:30pm
  • Elementary–Middle School (K–8th): August 17, 2026–May 28, 2027, 35 hours/week, 8:15am–3:45pm
• Contract positions; onsite only
• High School setting supports 12 students (1–3 per class)
• K–8 supports 30 students (1–5 per class)

Required Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher (verified screenshot required – no exceptions)
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings strongly preferred
• Strong command of ASL and other communication modalities used by Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
• Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality

Role Expectations:

• Deliver interpretation services for classroom instruction, activities, and student interactions
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and students to foster accessible learning environments
• Adapt interpreting style to the individual communication needs of students
• Maintain accurate, timely records and contribute to student support plans
• Consistently adhere to district policies and ethical guidelines for interpreters
