The Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care in an outpatient oncology clinic setting, focusing on infusion therapies and port draws. Responsibilities:
The Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care in an outpatient oncology clinic setting, focusing on infusion therapies and port draws. The RN is responsible for administering chemotherapy and other infusions, managing patient care using infusion pumps, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality oncology care. Certification in oncology nursing and experience with infusion equipment are essential. This role requires strong clinical skills, patient communication, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Administer 6 infusions and perform 1-2 port draws daily in an outpatient oncology clinic.
- Operate and manage Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps for chemotherapy and other treatments.
- Provide skilled nursing care tailored to oncology patients, including assessment, monitoring, and management of side effects.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, preferably EPIC.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medication administration, and symptom management.
- Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and oncology nursing best practices.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Oncology nursing certification (ONCC or ONS) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year oncology or infusion outpatient nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps.
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous travel nursing experience is advantageous.
- No weekend shifts required.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Locals are accepted for this position.
- Travel restrictions (RTO) must be disclosed at time of submission.
- Work environment focused on outpatient oncology infusion clinic.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week guaranteed.
- Shift options include: 7:45 AM-4:15 PM, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, or 9:30 AM-6:00 PM.
- Start date is ASAP.
