Powered by UC Irvine, UCI Health serves 5.6 million people across Orange County, western Riverside County and southeast Los Angeles County through excellence in patient care, research and medical education.Position SummaryThe Central Sterile Tech is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital and outlying clinics. Will also perform charging, billing and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR. Performs daily biological testing. Participates on special projects and departmental and medical center-wide performance improvement projects as requested.What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired Qualifications: Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology Current full CRCST or CSPDT certification. Must maintain certification by taking CEUs and renewing certification.
