Director of Facilities and Maintenance Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church Summary The Director of Facilities and Maintenance supervises and oversees all aspects of construction, maintenance, and safety of the Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church buildings and grounds. This includes supervision of all maintenance and custodial staff. Reports to the Business Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned as needed. Maintenance supervision of staff Trains and reviews employee performance of parish maintenance staff. Establishes daily work assignments, reviews and approves time sheets for parish maintenance staff. Conducts regular meetings with parish maintenance staff. Maintenance of all buildings systems and structures Oversees the maintenance and operation of all mechanical systems including AC, heating, plumbing systems, electrical systems, general repair work of all buildings. Oversees the maintenance and operation of fire alarm and fire protection (sprinklers and fire Oversees the maintenance of all building structures including preventative maintenance, energy usage/conservation, repairs, and general cleanliness. Parish Grounds Oversees the maintenance of the grounds including grass cutting, hedge trimming, gardens, tree pruning and removal, fertilizing and disease prevention of grass and plants. Oversees the maintenance of the irrigation systems of entire plant. Safety and Risk Management Attend safety, risk management, and security seminars as required. Maintain safety certifications of entire plant, including fire safety, risk management, and security management. Schedule and participate in required inspections for the entire plant Equipment and furniture maintenance Assists in the maintenance of all office equipment for the parish Coordinates the repair, purchase and replacement of non-office furniture for the parish Maintains inventory of major parish assets, including furniture and movable equipment. Maintenance Requests Design and implement a system for managing maintenance requests and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner. Oversee routine repairs as requested. Maintain channels of communication with all staff members, providing updates on open requests. Facility Usage and Set-ups Work with the parish staff regarding facility usage and room set-ups. Assists in the coordination of parish events, including scheduling of meetings, weddings, funerals, etc, set ups, take down, and cleaning. Supplies and inventory Maintains cost-effective inventory of all expendable supplies (paper goods, cleaning supplies, soap, etc) and oversees the coordination of requests for supplies. Construction In coordination with the pastor and parish administrator, directs and oversees major projects for remodeling, improving or changing the physical plant or grounds. Required Knowledge and Skills Previous experience in facility operation or construction 2 or more years supervisory experience of direct staff or subcontractors Basic mechanical knowledge and skills Good interpersonal and written communication skills with attention to detail Time management and organizational skills Working Conditions Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
