Bookkeeping Intern

Role Description The Bookkeeper Intern is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s day-to-day accounting operations. This role ensures timely processing of transactions, compliance with internal controls, with a focus on accurate data entry. This role may continue to evolve as the intern’s capabilities grow. Responsibilities Record and maintain day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Process invoices, payments, reimbursements, and deposits accurately and on time Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts monthly Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations Duties and responsibilities may develop over time, and the job description is subject to changes of business necessity Qualifications Working towards an Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred) Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) (preferred) Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Background screening required Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Experience with Microsoft Suite (Experience with Excel is required) Ability to lift 25lbs Communicate in English effectively.
