Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 1845-0715. Contract options available for 36 or 48 hours per week. Contract lengths range from 13-26 weeks. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Float required.

Highlights:

• Dedicated neuro unit specializing in neurosurgical procedures and neurological diagnoses
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Two orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
• 36-bed unit with daily census of 36 patients serving adult patient population
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of RN experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neurology experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Experience with telemetry, IV starts and maintenance, CVA care, heparin and insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
