Tax Manager – Public Accounting (Private Business & Individual Clients) – Hamilton, OH

This is a Tax Manager role where you’ll own tax engagements for privately held businesses, their owners, and individual clients — not just review returns, but advise year-round. You’ll be the go-to for complex federal and state work, shape client tax strategy on entity structure and transactions, and lead the development of staff and seniors. You’ll have direct access to firm leadership in a 100% employee-owned environment where your work drives real client decisions.

Responsibilities:

Manage and review business and individual tax engagements, including partnership, S Corp, and C Corp returnsReview complex federal and state tax returns and provide proactive tax planning and advisory

Advise on entity structure, business transactions, and multi-state/SALT mattersManage year-round client relationships, engagement deadlines, budgets, and workflowIdentify tax planning opportunities and process improvements

Develop and review work of tax staff and seniors and partner with leadership on client strategy

Requirements:
Required:5+ years of public accounting tax experienceActive CPA or EA license

Bachelor’s or Master’s in AccountingStrong federal tax knowledge and experience reviewing complex business returns

Experience managing tax engagements and client relationships

Local to Hamilton, OH area – must be within 25-30 milesPreferred:Pass -through, partnership, and S Corp tax experience

Multi-state / SALT experience

Staff mentoring or supervisory experience
