Line Cook Job Description

It is the Line Cook's role to be responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the grill, fry and/or other areas of the kitchen. In addition, this is a team position. The line consists of 3 to 5 crewmembers working side-by-side in a very demanding environment. A Line cook must be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by other Team Leaders and/or Managers at any time.

RESPONSIBILITIES /DUTIES

• Understand and practice all LFCR policies, procedures, and regulations;
• To act as a role model to co-workers by displaying a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity;
• To be the best Teammate in a Teamwork environment. Always go out of your way to help your co-workers;
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner;
• Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served;
• Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines;
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant;
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes;
• Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift;
• Handles, stores, and rotates all food items properly;
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills;
• Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed;
• Full understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station;
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas;
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by other Team Leaders and/or Manager at any time;

QUALIFICATION:

• Certified Texas Food Handlers

• Ability to lift and move objects between 45-60 pounds;
• Ability to stand 90% of the time;
• Ability to climb stairs;
• Ability to work in an environment with extreme temperature changes;
