Employee Type 12 Mo Part-Time Contact information Name Kyla McMahon, Director of Auxiliary Programs Phone View phone number on click.appcast.io Description Position Purpose The Extended Day Site Coordinator serves as the primary on-site coordinator for Shorecrest’s Extended Day program during the school year and summer. This reliable, energetic, and highly organized professional is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-structured environment for children, maintaining required attendance and staffing ratios, coordinating program logistics, supporting and guiding staff, and serving as a key point of communication for families and Auxiliary Programs leadership. Through strong organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and a positive approach, the Site Coordinator helps ensure a high-quality experience for students, families, and staff. Essential Functions Program Operations: Check in with Auxiliary Programs leadership regarding program updates, student concerns, schedule changes, or operational needs Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure all sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed in accordance with school and division requirements Monitor enrollment and staffing levels throughout the program and coordinate staff departures as attendance decreases while maintaining required child-to-staff ratios. Confirm that all children have been signed out and departed safely before closing the program each day Complete incident reports and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner Student Supervision & Safety: Provide active supervision of children throughout the Extended Day program, ensuring student safety, engagement, and appropriate behavior through consistent physical presence and child-centered interactions Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students Support staff in implementing behavior expectations and basic behavior-management strategies Seek assistance from Auxiliary Programs leadership when additional behavioral intervention, safety support, or emergency response is needed Staff Support & Communication: Partner with Extended Day staff to facilitate daily activities, transitions, indoor and outdoor supervision, and overall program operations. Communicate observations regarding program operations, safety concerns, staff performance concerns, or opportunities for improvement to Auxiliary Programs leadership. Communicate with relevant student, family, or program information to Auxiliary Programs leadership and other appropriate school personnel as needed Family Engagement: Welcome and assist parents and guardians during student pick-up, providing professional, responsive, and courteous customer service Support positive relationships between the Extended Day program and Shorecrest families through effective communication and professionalism Professional Responsibilities: Maintain program spaces in accordance with school expectations and division-specific health and safety requirements Attend required meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Follow all Shorecrest policies, procedures, and safety protocols Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Auxiliary Programs and/or Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs Requirements High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, child development, or a related field preferred Experience working with school-age children in a school, camp, childcare, recreational, or similar setting required Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large groups of children while maintaining a safe, organized, and positive environment Ability to confidently coordinate a dynamic program environment involving multiple staff members, changing attendance levels, and competing priorities Strong behavior-management, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal communication skills with students, families, colleagues, and school personnel Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to exercise sound judgment, make decisions independently, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Competency with basic office technology, email, attendance systems, and web-based applications. Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent care and supervision for children.
