Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: State nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC Must-Have: Previous charge experience, patient ratio experience, and charting system experience Description: The role requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Every other weekend coverage is required. No call shifts are included. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be necessary as needed. Candidates will undergo a clinical review to determine fit. If clinical pass is successful and aligns with guidelines, candidates will move forward for final decision. Requested time off is limited to a maximum of 7 days. If a major holiday occurs during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, both must be worked. If three major holidays occur, the traveler is expected to work two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Full compliance is required for a timely start. Non-billable orientation hours are included based on the length of the contract. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Patient care requires competency in various skills, including care of ventilated patients and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Daily census averages around 250 with a total of 59 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy and pharmacy. Special procedures include a level 3 trauma center. A telemetry competency exam is required. This role involves working with diverse patient age groups from neonates to geriatrics. Experience in trauma and travel nursing is advantageous.
