Overview of the Position:

• Location: Consultants in Infectious Disease
• Address: 120 East Second Street and 201 State Street, Erie, PA 16550
• Employment Status: Full-time role
• Work Schedule: 4.5 days of inpatient consultative services weekly, with 0.5 day dedicated to outpatient care; on-call rotation of 1:3
• Visa Sponsorship: Open to J-1 Waiver and H-1B candidates for 2027 and later

Our organization is actively seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join our established hospital-based consultative practice in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Key Highlights of the Position:

• Collaborative Team Environment: Become part of a dedicated Infectious Disease service featuring two full-time physicians and one Advanced Practice Provider, fostering a supportive clinical atmosphere.
• System-Wide Influence: Deliver telemedicine consultations across UPMC Northern Pod hospitals, broadening your clinical impact while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
• State-of-the-Art Technology: Utilize a fully integrated Epic electronic medical record system for efficient documentation, communication, and continuity of patient care.
• Focus on Patient Safety: Implement a hospital-wide electronic surveillance system for nosocomial infections to proactively improve patient safety and outcomes.
• Integrated Care Approach: Contribute significantly to an established Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, collaborating closely with the Infectious Disease team and hospital leadership to promote best practices.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
• Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease Fellowship Program
  • Recent fellowship-trained physicians are encouraged to apply
• American Board Eligible or Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease
• Ability to secure an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and necessary credentials
• DEA certification required
