Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity calls for an engaged educator to guide a high school functional curriculum classroom designed for lower functioning learners. The classroom team includes two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, ensuring a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The position is full-time, running from August 4th, 2026, through May 26th, 2027, with the potential for some additional planning days. Strong performance could open doors for continuation into the next school year.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current or pending Special Education Certification (GaPSC) valid through 8th grade
• Adapted Curriculum Endorsement strongly preferred
• Ability to deliver instruction and support individualized education plans (IEPs) in a self-contained setting
• Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals and behavioral staff
• Strong organizational skills and a compassionate, student-centered mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement functional curriculum tailored to student needs
• Manage a classroom of lower functioning high school learners, ensuring a safe, engaging environment
• Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician
• Foster development of academic, behavioral, and life skills through targeted instruction
• Maintain thorough documentation and communication with families and staff
