Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role is based in a supportive classroom environment, working with students on a functional curriculum in a lower functioning, self-contained classroom. The position offers collaboration with two dedicated paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, ensuring comprehensive support for students. Key Qualifications:

• Active SPED GaPSC Certification with SPED content through 8th grade
• Adapted Curriculum Endorsement required (district will also consider candidates with pending credentials)
• Experience working with high school-aged students who have developmental disabilities or significant learning differences preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies and curriculum to meet individual student needs

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement individualized instruction and support according to students’ IEPs
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and the registered behavior technician in the classroom
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by district and state regulations
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
• Communicate regularly with families and support staff regarding student progress
• Participate in pre- and post-planning days as needed

This position is full-time, 37.5–40 hours per week, running from August 4th, 2026 through May 26th, 2027, with the possibility of renewal into the next school year based on performance.
