Overview
Registered Nurse - Short Stay in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 08/17/2026. This travel temporary assignment runs for 8 weeks with guaranteed 48 hours per week. Shift is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Setting: a short-term acute care hospital. This assignment is a travel role in a hospital environment requiring EPIC experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care across infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, manage equipment, and deliver pre- and post-education and discharge planning
- Support post-operative recovery (phase two) and monitor patient status with appropriate interventions
- Interpret ECG rhythms and respond to life-threatening emergencies; monitor leads and determine appropriate monitoring needs
- Collaborate with the care team to implement the nursing care plan and coordinate patient education and discharge readiness
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with unit standards in a fast-paced environment

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in the field
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (per facility policy)
- Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Epic system experience required
- Ability to work in a short stay/pre- and post-operative setting and manage care across multiple ages
