The Designer/Drafter assists with capital project design and provides engineering support for all Cleveland-based operations. This role is responsible for day‑to‑day 3D modeling and 2D drafting to support Plant Engineering and the groups it serves. The Designer/Drafter is expected to independently develop or modify designs, collaborate with relevant parties, and follow through with assigned design projects. What You Will Do Support Plant Engineers and other departments with the creation and/or modification of 3D models, detail manufacturing drafts, and facility layout drawings. Reverse engineer components from physical parts, or legacy AutoCAD drawings. Create, modify, curate, and store electronic files using document management systems and/or database systems (Teamcenter and Vault). Assist in the development and maintenance of templates and schematics. Maintain mechanical CAD procedures and standards by correcting user drawings and practices, and verify and resolve issues with CAD documentation that does not meet the defined Plant Engineering standard. Support internal and external fabrication through the creation of supporting files such as .DXF, .PDF, or .STP. Document existing production and facility support equipment. Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the department's goals and the Company's RISE Strategy. Education & Experience Requirements Minimum of a High School Education or GED. Minimum of 3 years professional experience in design and drafting. Technically proficient in one of the following: Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Catia, or NX. Familiarity with AutoCAD. Experience with data management systems (PDM/PLM) using Autodesk Vault or Siemens TeamCenter. Experience with the use of measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers. Experienced with machine shop or metal manufacturing processes. Intermediate to advanced computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft software applications. Highly motivated to quickly learn Solid Edge 3D CAD drafting, detail print making skills, and drafting applications. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Organized and highly detail oriented. Self‑motivated with a high level of ownership, and resolve to complete projects. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Able to work on the production floor to perform equipment measurements and design concepts. Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to propose innovative solutions.
