Work Environment

This remote role will engage closely with the educational community, collaborating with school personnel, families, and community resources to facilitate students' psychosocial needs. While primarily home-based, our LCSW will regularly communicate with educators and administrators to implement effective support strategies for students facing various challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an individual caseload of students by evaluating and assessing their social, emotional, financial, and cultural factors that influence their academic performance and overall well-being.
• Actively develop and implement treatment plans tailored to address complex psychosocial issues identified during assessments, employing a broad range of therapeutic and intervention modalities.
• Function as a leader within the healthcare team, advocating for students' needs, empowering them to maintain agency over their treatments, and ensuring that their rights and voices are central to the decision-making process.
• Collaborate with educators, school counselors, and community agencies to provide continuing education, resources, and referrals that support students' academic journeys and home environments.
• Deliver crisis intervention services promptly to students and their families, ensuring immediate support during critical situations and maintaining a continuous line of communication with the healthcare team.
• Supervise staff, including social work interns and volunteers, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance the overall quality of social work services within the school environment.
• Facilitate care coordination for students transitioning from inpatient facilities or those needing wraparound services, mobilizing community resources to support their reintegration into their educational settings.
• Participate in specialty rounds, case conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and evaluate the efficacy of intervention strategies.
• Document all interactions and interventions thoroughly and efficiently, playing a critical role in the maintenance of accurate and confidential patient records.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses primarily on school-aged children facing a variety of psychosocial issues ranging from developmental disabilities to family disruptions and mental health challenges. The LCSW will play a crucial role in addressing the holistic needs of students, ensuring they receive comprehensive support from school and community resources.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of direct experience in clinical social work, specifically in a school-based or pediatric setting.
• Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and community resources related to education and family services.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse populations and fostering trust.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in case management, crisis intervention, and preventive strategies within an organizational or educational context.
• Familiarity with the educational system and its policies, particularly those supporting students with special needs.
• Proficiency in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize student care outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
