Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pontiac, MI. This position is responsible for generating and managing a pipeline of mortgage loan applications, guiding borrowers through each step of the lending process from initial inquiry to closing. Day-to-day activities include consulting with clients to assess their financial profiles, recommending suitable loan products, collecting and reviewing documentation, and coordinating with processors and underwriters to ensure timely approvals. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with real estate partners, following up with leads, staying current on mortgage guidelines, and delivering clear communication to ensure a positive borrower experience. Both licensed and non-licensed candidates will receive training and support to develop in the mortgage industry. Qualifications Candidates should possess experience or strong interest in Loan Officer responsibilities, including managing pipelines and supporting borrowers through the mortgage process. Candidates should possess knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and an understanding of different mortgage products and regulations. Candidates should possess skills in Mortgage Lending, including evaluating borrower eligibility, structuring loans, and explaining terms clearly. Candidates should possess familiarity with Underwriting concepts, documentation requirements, and risk assessment to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams. Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and handle questions and concerns professionally. Additional beneficial qualifications include sales or financial services experience, proficiency with loan origination systems, strong analytical and math skills, and the ability to meet performance goals. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
