About the Business

I am currently supporting a private equity-backed business services platform serving customers across Texas. My client is growing through M&A activity and organic growth to become a leader in the market.

The Opportunity

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as the senior financial leader, partnering with the CEO and the private equity sponsor to drive value creation through disciplined financial management, strategic capital allocation, and execution of the buy-and-build growth agenda.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the consolidated finance function across all operating entities, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, payroll, and risk management.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with delivery of board-ready financial reporting packs to private equity sponsor standards.
• Manage the platform's relationship with its lender group, including covenant compliance, refinancing discussions, and ongoing capital structure optimisation.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across operating divisions, with particular emphasis on contract-level margin management, work-in-progress accounting, and project profitability analysis.
• Lead M&A activity from sourcing through to integration, including target screening, financial diligence, modelling, structuring, and post-acquisition consolidation.
• Partner with operational leadership to implement and refine project accounting, job costing, and revenue recognition processes appropriate to a multi-entity services business.
• Manage the company's banking, audit, tax, insurance, and external advisor relationships.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a finance team capable of supporting continued platform growth and eventual exit readiness.
• Prepare the business for eventual exit, including the development of quality of earnings analysis, sponsor-grade reporting infrastructure, and supporting documentation appropriate to a sale process.

The Candidate

• This role requires a sitting or recent Chief Financial Officer with deep experience with experience working with private equity.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least five years as a CFO or divisional CFO of a relevant business.
• Direct experience as CFO or senior finance leader in business services, facilities services, infrastructure services, or similar project-based field services business.
• Demonstrated experience working with private equity sponsors, including monthly and quarterly board reporting, lender management, covenant compliance, and supporting institutional value creation processes.
• Hands-on experience with project accounting, including percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, work-in-progress management, change order accounting, and job-level margin analysis.
• Experience managing the financial complexity of a multi-entity operating structure with a large field-based workforce.

Location and Working Arrangements

The role is based at the company's Fort Worth, Texas office and requires regular on-site presence. Travel to other operating locations across Texas will be required limited times.

Salary range - $300,000 - $400,000 + bonus and equity
