Sous Chef Position at Cranes Bistro

Join our team at Cranes Bistro, a new French Bistro located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire! We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to assist our Executive Chef in creating and executing our rotating seasonal French/Modern American menu. If you have experience organizing and maintaining a smooth kitchen line, with a background in French cuisine, we want to hear from you!

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations
• Contribute to menu planning and development
• Maintain high standards of food quality and portion control
• Manage food costs and ensure profitability
• Ensure kitchen sanitation and food safety standards are met

Required Skills:

• Strong knife skills and food preparation techniques
• Knowledge of food cost management and ordering/purchasing
• Experience in back of house operations and culinary arts
• Ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation standards
• Plate Presentation
• Scratch Cooking
• Experienced at all hot/cold stations
• ServSafe certification
• High standards in food quality
• Culinary Arts degree prefered
