JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Nurse II is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Clinical Nurse II independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to adult. The Clinical Nurse II demonstrates proficiency in Patient and Family Centered Care, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Safety, Continuous Quality Improvement, Teamwork, Technology/Informatics, Professionalism, and Leadership.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Performs all the functions of Clinical Nurse I. Patient and Family Centered Care Recognizes the patient (or the patient's designee) as the source of control and full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care. Manages more complex patient care assignments appropriate to skill level. Participates in building consensus and resolving conflict in patient care. Demonstrates the ability to see the 'big picture'. Uses clinical experience and historical patient responses to refine practice. Speaks to the patient about advanced care planning, values, and end‑of‑life care before urgent decisions arise. Evaluates and considers alternative approaches to establish a healing environment. Engages in problem solving for complex delivery issues and ensures system support for patient‑centered care. Evidence Based Practice and Research Generates clinical questions, searches and evaluates evidence, and applies it to practice. Questions current practice and develops clinical inquiry. Communicates the need for revising policies, procedures, and guidelines. Locates current evidence and resources related to clinical practice. Safety Serves as resource for safety concerns. Demonstrates skills in problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Participates in analyzing errors and designing system improvements. Continuous Quality Improvement Utilizes data and QI methods to identify problems and opportunities. Participates in design, review, and evaluation of QI initiatives at unit level. Integrates QI initiatives into individual plan of care and aligns with PQMS. Identifies QI tools, methods, and mindset. Teamwork Engages in cooperation, coordination, and collaboration with inter‑ and intra‑professional teams. Plans improvement in effective team development and asserts own perspective while supporting discussions. Initiates self‑development as a team member and demonstrates team values. Technology/Informatics Utilizes information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, and mitigate errors. Serves as resource for documentation and care planning. Promotes communication technologies that support decision making and patient privacy. Searches, retrieves, and manages data for decision making. Evaluates information critically and incorporates it into knowledge base. Acts as champion for clear and timely documentation. Anticipates unintended consequences of new technology and responds proactively. Integrates clinical information systems to coordinate and anticipate care. Professionalism Demonstrates commitment to nursing profession through lifelong learning and adherence to ANA Code of Ethics. Promotes ethical concerns and prepares for specialty certification. Supports development of others through precepting and identifies opportunities for improved processes. Promotes ANA's Code of Ethics and professional standards. Provides constructive feedback to peers to foster development. Obtains membership and participates in professional organizations. Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent Pediatric PACU RN experience or 2 years recent Pediatric ICU RN experience. Pediatric PACU experience strongly preferred. License/Certification: RQI Healthcare Provider Pediatric Advanced Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire Registered Nurse by California Board of Registered Nursing RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire RQI Healthcare Provider Advanced Life SupportPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary may also be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and internal equity.
