Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room, supporting a wide range of cases including ortho/total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures; maintain sterile technique and surgical asepsis.
- Prepare and manage intraoperative equipment, assist with patient positioning, and support anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Conduct patient verification, time-out/Universal Protocol, and appropriate documentation of intraoperative events; ensure correct specimen handling and specimen labeling.
- Administer medications and blood products as ordered; monitor patient status intraoperatively and respond quickly to any changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IV teams, PT, RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, RRT, Transportation, Unit Secretary, Interpretation Services) to facilitate efficient case flow.
- Complete accurate charting in the Epic system and participate in post-operative handoff to the receiving team.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in-hand required
- BLS certification required; CNOR noted as referenced elsewhere, verification may be required
- Epic (EPIC) charting experience required
- OR nursing experience: 3 years preferred (note: an internal posting indicates 1 year; confirm requirement with Account Manager)
- Travel experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced OR with broad case mix (ortho/spine, vascular/endovascular, thoracic, neuro, GYN/urology, plastics/microvascular, ENT, endoscopy, robotics)
- Call required; floating to related areas as needed
- RTO/Time-off: minimal; cannot submit candidates with more than 10 days RTO
- Not accepting local candidates within 75 miles of the facility
