Unit Secretary

Job Summary The Unit Secretary coordinates the non‑clinical aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit. Essential Functions Performs unit clerical functions. Acts as a receptionist. Acts as an intradepartmental and interdepartmental liaison. Orders and stocks office supplies, coordinates repair of office and unit equipment. Demonstrates Corewell Health customer service standards and behaviors in all aspects of job performance. Reinforces hospital service recovery program and identifies customer service recovery opportunities. Always demonstrates courteous behavior, gives clear directions, maintains high standards of personal appearance, introduces self by name and function, treats all customers with dignity, provides comfort and clear information, responds promptly to requests for service, maintains confidentiality, and serves as an ambassador of Corewell Health. Conveys information completely and timely. Effectively interacts with others. Delivers excellent customer service by exhibiting the Corewell Health Standards. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Specialized Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator training. 1 year of relevant experience in clerical and/or customer service.
